Loading & Pick-Up Zones
Here to find out more about our loading zone network? You’ve come to the right place.
We work to balance Bethlehem’s limited curb space with the diverse needs of our business community. While working within the constraints of our existing infrastructure, we provide the right mix of loading areas, pick-up/drop-off spaces, and crucial short-term on-street parking to support businesses, visitors, and delivery drivers alike.
Shared Resources for a Stronger Community
The curb is a shared space with many competing demands, and while it’s not feasible for every business to have its own dedicated loading area, most zones are only a short walk from downtown shops, restaurants, and offices.
Delivery drivers and businesses work together every day to make the most of these shared spaces, helping reduce congestion, avoid double parking, and ensure deliveries are efficient and reliable.
A Safer, More Accessible Bethlehem
Bethlehem has well over 100 free accessible spaces in the city and dozens of loading and pick-up zones in both of its downtowns alone, far more than many sister cities of our size. This shared network helps keep our downtowns thriving while ensuring our streets remain safe and accessible for people walking, biking, rolling, and driving.
To easily identify our loading and pick up spaces, we’ve created an interactive map below.
To help manage the increasing congestion at the curb, the BPA created and implemented a Smart Loading Zone Pilot in 2023. Learn more about our Smart Loading Zone pilot by visiting the line here, https://www.bethpark.org/resources/smart-loading-zone-pilot/
